Here we try to answer some of your frequently asked questions.

Do I need to pay for my non-walking baby ?

No, families do not need to pay for non walkers still in slings/carriers if attending with one paying child/adult

Do you cater for allergies, milk intollerance or other dietary requirements?

Yes we do. Just let us know when you’re booking your tickets and we will accommodate you.

What age do the sessions cater for?

Family sessions and toddler groups cater for children as soon as they can walk. As well as hammocks, swings and the usual forest school equipment, we also have story books, musical instruments, puppets and an activity for them to get involved in.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

Yes we do. You will see a sibling option when booking a full price child ticket.

Are the staff qualified to deliver forest school sessions?

Yes we are! We all hold a Level 3 forest school qualification, an enhanced DBS, outdoor first aid and safeguarding certificates. All have worked with children in different roles; childminder, primary school teachers, and most of the team have extensive experience working with neurodivergent children, teenagers and adults.

What’s your maximum numbers for birthday parties?

Our parties cater for 15 children although we can take this to a maximum of 20. Extra children will be charged at £10 per head.
Do you supply food?

We provide water, juice and a campfire snacks e.g. s’mores

Do you offer decorations or birthday cake/party bags?

We always decorate our camp with beautiful handmade bunting, little touches around the fire circle and a special birthday message for the party host. You can bring your own decorations but we ask for them to be as eco-friendly as possible and all belongings taken away at the end of your party. We don’t allow balloons or glitter. You are welcome to bring birthday cake and party bags.

What do we do if the weather is bad?

Sessions and parties will always go ahead no matter what the weather unless there are winds over 32mph. in which case we would have to cancel (or our insurance will be void). Our tarp canopies keep us dry around the campfire when we are eating and for very adverse conditions we will assess on the morning.

Where is the meeting point at Heaton Park?

Please use the St Margaret’s Road entrance. Head towards the car park near to the swing park. From the carpark you head to the Stables/Parklife café where we will meet you 45 minutes before the start of the session. We will take you to the forest school site where you can set up your cake and party bags. Ask your guests to meet you outside the Stables/Parklife café 10 minutes before the start of the party.

Do parents pay for car parking?

Carparking charges are enforced by Manchester City Council at Heaton Park. You can make payment with contactless cards. Carpark wardens do monitor this regularly.

What do we need to bring with us?

Dress for the weather. If it is wet then bring waterproofs to keep you dry and water bottle to stay hydrated. Parents may bring camping chairs.

How long do parties last?

Parties last for 90 minutes.

Do we pay a deposit for parties?

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total amount which is due when you make your booking. The balance will be due the week before your party. You can make payment for both deposit and balance to our bank account.
